Prototype Model MakerI have been a prototype model maker for nearly 30 years. I trained under a person that started his career as an intern model maker at GM when prototype vehicles were still made from wood and clay. I made journeyman status in 2004 and master in 2008. I still love going to work everyday.
Wire Hook
Original hook for the wire harness was insufficient. [Left]. The engineer asked to have a mock-up that would hold the wire without crashing into other objects on the mating part.
This hook, [Right] with the bend in it, not only held the wire but was parallel with the adjacent hook to not only fit the mating part, but hold different sized wire harnesses that have addition content.
Rework item
The two pins you see came in from the manufacturer too long. The task; shorten the pins by 2 mm; and return the 1.5 mm deep dimples back in so that the rivet press would still mushroom properly.
